BIT 6 Build 1030 64-bit 3D Test Failure

Just sent you another email with actual .trace files this time. The problem seems to be gone from the first machine, but is now showing up on new build. Could be the GSkill Ripjaws RAM which I moved from the original machine to the new build. However, it has not failed an overnight run of Memtest86+ v4.20. Might need to test it longer, but 16GB takes a looooong time to get through a single pass.

Btw...the crash occurs on the new machine exactly like the previous one...almost immediately after starting the test. And there were no dump files created in the MyDocs\Passmark\BurnIn Test directory.

Ok, thanks for the info. I got back home and re-ran the test. I am building another system and removed the 16GB GSkill memory chips from the machine that is failing the BIT test to be used in my new build. After putting my OLD 8GB Hynix memory back into this machine, the 3D test no longer crashes BIT. However, I'm 99.9% certain that my dual monitor setup is the primary culprit. I can now run and pass the 3D test on a SINGLE monitor, but the test gets "interrupted" when I hook up monitor #2.

I ran a level 2 trace file for both configurations, single and dual monitor. If you really think it's worth the effort and information, I can reinstall my 16GB memory back into this box and see if I still get a failure...your call.

File attachments are blocked on this forum. How do I deliver the log files...they were saved in HTML by default?

A level 2 trace file is a option from the logging preferences window in BurnInTest.

The vast majority of crashes in the video test are device driver bugs, or bad hardware (e.g. overheating)

I installed the trial version and it crashes just like the other 1030 build. So, I'll need to rerun it with just the 3D test. However, we're leaving today for a camping trip, so it will be a week or so before I can come back to you with results.

I'm happy to help resolve the issue with testing, but I'm not familiar with a "level 2 trace file". I tried to research it, but can't find any reference that seems to fit what we're dealing with here. Is that some type of output from the Windows Event Viewer or another log file, perhaps generated by your debug BIT version?

We have created a 64-bit version of BurnInTest to debug this issue. Could you please try it:

If this does not stop the crash, please send me a level 2 trace file of just the 3D test running.

Just to clarify in case I misstated... it is ONLY the 3D module that is causing the crash. If I deselect 3D, then BIT runs fine. But if I engage 3D test in any fashion, the app crashes. I re-ran BIT this morning to reproduce the error and this was the result in the Win Event Log:

I'm running Win7 Home Prem SP1, 16GB RAM, AMD Phenom II X4 910, HP Pavillion Elite e9220y w/Foxconn Aloe v1.01 mobo and ATI Radeon 4350 in PCIe X16 slot.

Hello, I've just purchased the BurnIn and Performance Test combo and I find that I cannot run the BIT 3D test at all, either by itself or any other configuration, without crashing BIT.

I have an ATI Radeon 4350 Card with support for DirectX 10.1. I ran DxDiag and everything checks out ok and have also updated the ATI Catalyst drivers as of today with no improvement. Performance Test seems to have no issues reporting on 3D functions, but BIT crashes every time.

I've read the FAQ and see there are issues with "low end" GPU's crashing under DX9, but this card is rated for DX 10.1 and Performance Test has no issue reporting on the 3D capabilities....any workaround or just be satisfied with the 2D tests?
