Yeah, I am testing a flash drive. It should be a corruption in the file allocation tables. Thanks!

What type of drive is your G: drive? I am guessing UFD = USB Flash Drive?

If you are testing a flash drive then why did you make reference to an old post about floppy disk drive controller chips from the 1980's?

There are several causes for the error regarding the file not being able to be opened. It might be a corruption in the file allocation tables, it might be a device driver bug, or it might be a bad drive (bad RAM in the case of a USB key drive).

"Yes there is a very very old issue from the early 1980s regarding NEC. NEC & Intel made a floppy disk drive controller chip but it had a bug. NEC was slow in fixing the bug, and in between time Toshiba reversed engineered the chip and copied the bug. Toshiba then went on to sell the buggy chip for several years durng the late 1980s. There was a claim that they sold the buggy chip for up to 10 years, even though they knew about the bug.

The bug caused files on floppy disk to become corrupted when the bus was under heavy load.
    "

BurnInTest will report "Test file could not be re-opened" for the floppy disk.
If we know the details why BurnInTest reports "Test file could not be re-opened", could we resolve the bug?
