Sleeper: Can only wake from hibernate manually

I have several portables running Vista that when running Passmark Sleeper (1003) configured for S4 cycles that do not wake from hibernate in an automated fashion. Instead I have to press the power button on the portable.

Am I missing something in the configuration? A similarly configured desktop machine wakes from hibernation just fine.

The "sleep forever" checkbox in the Sleeper configuration window would give this behaviour.
