    Understanding the "State" indicator on Memtest86

    Hi
    I am using Memtest86 for the first time and do not understand the state indicator.
    I am testing the RAM in a dual core machine (Intel Core2 Duo T9300 @ 2.50GHz) and see that 2 CPUs are active.
    For most of the testing time I see the "State" showing 2 rotation lines e.g. \ /, |-, / \, -|. However towards the end of one test pass I noticed that the State showed a single rotating line and a static W e.g. \ W , |W, /W, -W, \ W etc

    I have tried many searches but not found any explanation of what the static W signifies.

    Can anyone please help?
    Thanks

    I have moved this question from the general section of the forum to the MemTest86 section.

    W = waiting.

    You'll see it most often in the single threaded tests on a multi-core machine.
