  • Windows 11 22H2 GPU Compute / OpenCL

We came across some strange behaviour today in the new Windows 11 22H2 build that seems to have been caused by the update breaking the AMD graphics driver. We received a warning from the Radeon software that the hardware (RX 470) was not supported by the driver (which up until this point was working without issue) and the OpenCL GPU compute test ran but did not display any of the particle effects and no errors were thrown during the test (see below).

We resolved this by updating to the latest available AMD software and driver (AMD Software Adrenaline version 22.6.1).

I can confirm that the behavior of this test getting stuck not showing the particles has been reproducible even on Win11 22H1 (and now too on 22H2) on my 6900XT.
Been using always latest drivers, and at least for the last 4 versions this existed, now on 22.9.1 as well.
