    SERIAL PORTs TESTING under BartPE

    Hello guys,

is there anyone who can help me?
I need to use BartPE to test my machines without O.S.
My machines uses 3 or 4 serial ports so I need to test them with BurnIN and under BartPE.

    Any possibilities?

    Suggestion?

    Thanks,
    Bye

We have updated the BartPE/BurnInTest installation guide to v1.3. This
now includes references to the serial port test plugin:

    Regards,

      COM port plug-in

      Hello,

I cannot seem to locate the Enable-COM-&-LPT-Ports (ver2) (com_lpt_ports.zip V2) plug-in. The white paper, "Using BurnInTest on a system with no Operating System" references this site:

      http://www.bootcd.us/BartPE_Plugin_D...LPT-Ports.html

That link is a dead end and a Google search does not turn up anything too helpful. Does anyone have a link to this file?

      Thank You

We have not tested this and can't give you a document describing the steps to test a serial port under BartPE. In saying this, it should be possible to get the serial ports working under BartPE. A link to an example plugin is included in this posts thread. Once the serial port is working on the system, testing it with BUrnInTest should just be the same as testing directly on a system with Windows installed.

Sorry, I can't help any further with serial port testing when using BartPE.

If you were using Microsoft WinPE, you can test serial ports, parallel ports and USB ports using PassMark USB 2.0 Loopback ports. This is documented in our updated WinPE document:
                  http://www.passmark.com/ftp/BIT_WinPE_v1.2.pdf
