  • Intrepreting fail logs for removable drive

    Hi,
I ran a USB drive disk cycle using BurnInTest V5.1 and looking at the log generated, I don't know what one item printed out is referring to. Below is an example of the printout, what does the offset represent to the failure? Many thanks for your help!

    SERIOUS : 2008-06-14 10:07:39, Disk, F: Data Verify failure
    LOG NOTE: 2008-06-14 10:07:39, Disk, File: F:\~bittestF00130, Value Read: 173, Value Expected: 165, Offset 7705097, Ops: 6665977856

The drive is bad. Data read from the drive doesn't match the data written. It might also be a fake USB drive, there are a lot of them on the market.

The offset is the byte offset in the test file (the failure was at around the 7MB mark in the file in this case).
