  • USB Loop back question

I was wondering is there any way I can pre-install USB loop backs onto a cloned hard drive? My issue is that we have a master hard drive that we clone our products from and I installed one loop back on to the master but when I started running my test procedure windows wanted to install the other loop backs like it had never seen a loop back before. Is there any way I can make it so that when a loop back is plugged in that windows would not need to install the drivers each time? This makes automating testing very hard. Thanks for your help.

The USB 2.0 Loopback plugs each have unique serial numbers and this is used by BurnInTest to help with some types of error recovery. As such, you can't pre-install the device drivers.

In W2000 and Vista, the process should be fairly quick as the drivers are signed. In XP and 2003, it is a bit more manual.
