RS422 loopback test

i got a port which is RS232/422 auto selection port.
I got a loopback plug (DIY) too.
So when i run burnin test, will it run 232 loopback or 422?

I don't know what crietia the port uses to switch behaviour. But I presume it would be some electrical signal from the device plugged into the port.

From a software point of view there is no difference between the port types.
