HDD transfer rate thoughts please

Hey folks, Just wondering about a server i'm currently testing here.

Basic specs are as:

ASUS MoBO
Dual Xeon 2.4
8GB 266mhz DDR
64mb ATI

Drive system:

Adaptec 2120 Raid card
4X Seagate U320 32gb drives in Raid 5 config.

Everything is insulated and vented as best as can be done.

I have set the "slow drive threshold" to 0.5mb/sec which I thought would have been a walk in the park for this system.

Every cycle reports an undrespeed error with the speed being recorded at an average of 0.38mb/s. IMHO if this is the case it would seam I have a nasty drive latency problem.

I guess I'm looking for some other ideas or opinions as i'm a tad concerned.

It might be becuase you don't have the disk test duty cycle set to 100%. Or it might becuase there are other tests running on the system at the same time, and from time to time the disk test thread is delayed.
