  • Error: 2D Graphics, Surface lost: Restoring

    Hi PassMark Developer,

I am running PassMark 6.0 32-bit on an Intel based AIO Industrial Panel PC
and I always get 1 error, no matter how many hours I run for on the 2D Graphics test. (See below example log)

I could not find this issue searching your forum, so I am looking for help on how to resolve this issue ?
    - Would changing some of the 2D Graphics options fix this ?
    - I am running with the default settings for this test.

    Sincerely,
    Bill Lusche

If you are getting one error no matter how long the test is, then I would suspect that the 2D test has stopped prematurely. This can happen if BurnInTest makes a request to the Graphics card (via DirectX) and this does not return (blocks at the Operating System level). This could be a device driver, graphics card setting or graphics card hardware.

I would try updating your device driver. If possible, I would try a different graphics card (just as a test). In some cases hardware settings could cause the device driver to fail/block, we have had reports where memory frequency and voltage settings have seemed to have caused this type of problem.

If you would like to email us full level 2 trace files then we can look at the trace files to see if they tell us more. Our email address is here:
