DirectX problems

Hi, I am having problems playing games like Age of Mythology, Halo, and Battle for Middle-Earth. I have no problem installing the games but i just cant play them. I run tests with BurnInTest, and the 3d test comes out as "Error initializing DirectX device.". So yeah i really dont know what to do, so if someone gave me very signifigent help, i would be very grateful.

Make sure you have DirectX9 from Microsoft and the latest video card device drivers installed (from your video card manufacturer).
