  • COM port test error message

    I was test COM port lookback test by Burn-In test V6.0.
    I got the error message is : COM port detected a Receive Overrun Error
    This error occur at 115200 baudrate setting.

    but , I into WinXp Device Management to change default setting to 115200 baudrate at COM port property. and running Burn-in test as above error never happen.

    please help us solving this problem .


    Test Environment
    1.OS : WinXP Sp3
    2.Burn-in test V6.0 , COM port loopback test.
    baudrate 115200

    Serial port overruns are not something to be too concerned about.
    They can happen if the machine is slow at high data rates,
    under heavy load, or has a device driver that blocks
    interrupt handling for a bit too long (e.g. a slow CD
    drive access locks the machine for a couple of seconds).
    They don't normally indicate a hardware fault. But can appear seemingly at random.
