  • burnintest vpro 6 32bit or 64 memory testing

    With burnintest vpro :

    for memory test :

for testing all memories , do we must have the OS can manage all memories installed :

ex: XP 64 bit with 6 Gb memories installed and burntest 64 bit test all the 6 Gb
    but
Xp pro 32 bit with 6 Gb memories installed and burnintest 32 bit test only 3 Gb of the 6 Gb memories

    best regards

Normally 32-bit Windows can't access 6GB of RAM. Hence it makes sense to put a 64-bit operating system on a system with 6GB of RAM and use 64-bit BurnInTest to test the RAM.

In saying this, there is a 'older' mechanism that 32-bit BurnInTest supports for testing larger memory on 32-bit systems. This was useful before 64-bit Windows was released.

If you must have a 32-bit operating system on a system with 6GB of RAM, then you can use the BurnInTest Addressing Windows Extension (AWE) memory test (32-bit BurnInTest Professional only) to test the memory.

The Addressing Windows Extension (AWE) memory test allows a larger area of memory to be tested on 32-bit versions of Windows. It requires some additional administrator user rights. It will also only work in Window XP. See the description in the RAM test preferences window for more details.
