Error while writing to the Disk

Hi Sir,
When I tested the 1TB disk drive, it occurs error, the error message is "Error while writing to the Disk", it doesn't occur if I test the volume of disk drive is less than 1TB. Could you help to check it?

Here is my test configuration:
Intel Romley Platform
BurnInTest v2.0(1006)linux
RHEL6.1 (Kernel 2.6.32-131.0.15.el6.x86_64)

I connected the a external HDD enclosure to the test system via USB3.0 or USB2.0 port.
Here is the test result:
DigiFusion 35C-U3 External Hard Drive Enclosure + WD5002ABYS WD 500GB ->Pass
DigiFusion 35C-U3 External Hard Drive Enclosure + WD1600AAJS WD 160GB ->Pass
DigiFusion 35C-U3 External Hard Drive Enclosure + WD2500AAKX WD 250GB ->Pass
DigiFusion 35C-U3 External Hard Drive Enclosure + ST3250312AS Seagate 250GB ->Pass
DigiFusion 35C-U3 External Hard Drive Enclosure + ST31000333AS Seagate 1TB ->Fail
DigiFusion 35C-U3 External Hard Drive Enclosure + WD1002FBYS WD 1TB ->Fail
WD Mybook HDD ->Fail (The volume of HDD is 1TB)
Buffalo BUF-HD-HXU3 ->Fail (The volume of HDD is 1TB)

I connected the HDD to on-board SATA port directly.
Here is the test result:
WD5002ABYS WD 500GB ->Pass
WD1600AAJS WD 160GB ->Pass
WD2500AAKX WD 250GB ->Pass
ST3250312AS Seagate 250GB ->Pass
ST31000333AS Seagate 1TB ->Fail
WD1002FBYS WD 1TB ->Fail

Can BurnInTest for Linux V3 be run on your platform?
We have fixed a lot of bugs since V2.

If you can replicate the problem with V3 can you send us a log file.

Hi Sir,
I don't purchase V3 yet, I am using unlicensed version.

Here is my result with V3. I will have more test and update to you accordingly.

Are these drives formatted as FAT32?

It sounds like the test file being created is too big (>4GB) and is failing to be written. If you pick a smaller file size in the test options (eg 0.1 %) or reformat them as NTFS you will be able to test them.

Hi Tim,
I modified the file size % of disk space from 1 to 0.1, test pass. I tried Linux V2 & V3.
Here is my test result.
DigiFusion 35C-U3 External Hard Drive Enclosure + ST31000333AS Seagate 1TB ->Pass
Buffalo BUF-HD-HXU3 ->Pass (The volume of HDD is 1TB)

The FAT file system only supports files of 4GB in size.
Trying to write files larger than this will cause a failure.

It is a well documented limit in the old FAT file system. (Try Google)
