  • "Bad packet. Checksum incorrect" when test lan in v3.0(1002)linux

    Hi Sir,
There is an error message "Bad packet. Checksum incorrect" when I test lan function. The test is pass if I use BurnInTest v2.0 (1006). Could you help to check it?

    Here is my test configuration:
    Intel Romley Platform
    BurnInTest v2.0(1006)linux
    RHEL6.1 (Kernel 2.6.32-131.0.15.el6.x86_64)

    The fail log:

We'll have a deeper look next week.

9 bad packets from 71 million isn't all that bad however.
Maybe you network was having a bad day when you got the errors?

What type of LAN is it (e.g. wireless)?
And what test setting do you have?

We've been able to reproduce this behaviour and we're looking into what is causing it, we should have some more information about it soon.

It seems this was due to a known issue with the algorithm used during the checksum calculation for the ICMP echo request packets used during the network test. Certain conditions would see an incorrect checksum error generated when there was no error.

The updated build to fix this is now available from http://www.passmark.com/download/bitlinux_download.htm.
