  • Software Exception Encountered Error

    Hi Guys

I am using Burin Test 7.0 to test my two DDR3 4G RAMs, it keeps showing this "Software Exception Encountered" error, does anyone know what happens here? Does it mean my RAM has a problem?

A Software exception error occurs when BurnInTest has an error it can't recover from. There are many reasons for this - accessing faulty RAM is one reason. If you are only running the memory test, then I would think there is a reasonable chance you have faulty RAM. I would try changing out the RAM if you have some other RAM.

Otherwise, if you would like to send us the details of the Software exception as displayed by BurnInTest (or in the BurnInTest log file) or in the Windows Application event log, then we can look further.

      Hi Ian

Thanks for your help. The test log file (a DMP file) is saved in My Documents/PassMark/Burnin Test. the size is 73.1MB. Do I look at the wrong file/ Where is the log file usually saved?Cheers!

Assuming the date/time matches the problem, then that should be the file. Please compress (zip) it and email it to us. It should compress to 2 or 3MB.
