Generate enough load to consume 50% CPU (Linux CLI)

I am new to this tool. I am running the CLI version on Linux (RHEL 6u0) as a VM on Vmware VSphere 4.1

I would like to generate enough load to consume exactly 50% utilization, can this tool accomplish this task?

Running the tool at a CPU only load of 99 only consumes 70% cpu, a load of 100 consumes 100% cpu.

Should be possible, just adjust down the duty cycle until you get to the % utilization that you want.
