  • BurnInTest v6.0 Test Serial Port Loopback issues

    Now,We corporation get error use BurnInTest v6.0 to Test Serial Port Loopback,list some information:
    1. BurnInTest Professional v6.0 Pro
    2. Operating System Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
    3. Test hardware platform:

    Intel Atom D2700 platform,
    SIO Winbond W83627UHG control 6 RS232 COM Port,
    LPC Fintek F81216HD control 4 RS232 COM Port
    RS232 serial loop back plugs pins connections according to BurnInTest V6.0 Users Guide(January 2011) 10.3-Page 137
    1. Set 115200 Kbits/sec,test 10 RS232 COM Port Loopback
    2. Test 1 hour no error,but 2 hours later get error”COM port detected a Receive Overrun Error”


    Plesase help we analyse the issues,thanks lots!

    Overrun errors are normally a result of the CPU being not being able to service the COM port interrupt quick enough. So the FIFO buffer overflows.

    This is more common when the CPU is slow, the serial port is being run at high speed and / or there is some other background activity occurring. Which fits your situation.
