Linux 64bit libpng

Hi does anybody have the same problem I experience??

./burnintest: error while loading shared libraries: libpng12.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

While this file is in directory

libpng: /usr/lib/libpng12.a /usr/lib/libpng.a /usr/lib/libpng.so /usr/lib/libpng12.so /usr/include/libpng /usr/share/man/man3/libpng.3.gz

Linux64 Kububtu 5.10 fully updated
CPU Two AMD Opterons
Mem 2G

Linux 64bit libpng

Hi mark,

I suspect the kernel is trying to link it with the 32-bit version of the libpng library, although other users have reported that it ran on their 64-bit Linux OS fine. Since Kubuntu is based on Ubuntu but with KDE desktop, it might also help if you check out Ubuntu forum pages to see if other users have experienced issues with their libpng library.
