  • Optical Drive errors

I had a Samsung 22x SATA DVDRW, It kept freezing playing DVD movies so I ran BurnItTest and got dozens or more than 100 errors in 15 minutes (ran multiple tests).

I bought a new drive. Slight newer version Samsung 24x SATA DVDiARW SH-224BB/BEBE

Ran two BurnIn 15 minutes tests at 100% optical drive only and got two errors. Since I am using a commercial DVD (Hunger Games) would this be normal due to some copy protection elements of the disc?

It is possible, deliberate errors are often included for copy protection.

Better to use a disk without any possibility of copy protection.
