  • BIT 5.1 3D Test Error = Missing DirectX.dll

    Hi,

I am running BIT 5.1 on machines with DirectX 8.1 on XP (Service Pack 1), and it gives the following error:

    3D Graphics, 'Error loading DirectX.dll'

But with BIT 4.x it works fine.

Was BIT 5.1 reprogrammed to function with DirectX 9.x?

Is there a way to turn off DX9 testing and force DX7 or DX8 instead?

(We dont have the option to simply install DX9 on the machines we test)

BurnInTest 5.1 was upgraded to use DirectX 9.0. There is currently no way of running the 3D test without DirectX 9.0. You will have to turn off the 3D test or upgrade to DirectX 9.0c.

    Regards,
    Ian

i guess we can use 4.x for those machines with DX8.x only.

Any chance of a future 5.x revision reverting back to DX8?

We have no plans for BurnInTest to support both DirectX8 and DirectX9. I guess if you had enough requests we would consider it.

It should be noted that DirectX 8 is not available on 64-bit Windows.
