    If the loopback device functions in a way that it has it's own IP and will respond to ping packets sent to it from the network card then yes, the IP address used for the test to connect to must be able to respond to ping packets. If it simply loops the tx and rx pins then no this will not work.

    Correct, there is no advanced network test in the Linux version of BurnInTest.

    I don't see advance Ethernet test in Linux. (please refer to attachment)
    So it has no endpoint test which is in Windows, correct?
