COM port error: "Error while receiving from the COM port. Check plug is connected"

Hi,
I test 12 COM ports, COM1 and COM2 always has "Error while receiving from the COM port. Check plug is connected", and I am very sure the plug is OK, but when I change IRQ number, the error change to the other COM ports!

(1)"Error while receiving from the COM port.Check plug is connected", if I plug is OK, what else I need to check?
(2)How burnintest know it's the error of "Error while receiving from the COM port. Check plug is connected"?

What version of BurnInTest are you using?

What is the hardware involved? CPU, serial port hardware, etc..

Are you running any other tests at the same time?

Are you using our serial port loopback plugs?

What version of Windows are you running? And it is 32bit or 64bit?

Did you check the BurnInTest log for any other errors?

What speed are you running it at? Did you try a lower speed?

This particular error probably means nothing could be read from the COM port (as reported by the device driver).

serial port hardware: nuvoton NCT6106D*2

no, only 12 com ports.

no, I do the loopback by myself

win 7 Ultimate edition build 7600 (32bit)

Did you check the BurnInTest log for any other errors?
yes, only this error message

What speed are you running it at? Did you try a lower speed?
115200
I try 57600, and it passed.

The nuvoton NCT6106D appears to be an bare super I/O chip. Not the PCI-E serial card solution I was expecting.

Maybe the chip isn't fast enough to run 12 ports simultaneously at the higher speeds?

Did you try running just one port at a time at the higher speed?

I run burnintest with 12 com ports over 24 hours at win7 fail, but at winXP passed!!
