I've followed the steps at https://www.passmark.com/support/bur...pe_builder.php with a PNY 32GB USB 3.1 flash drive, and have gotten the following error:

Error building WinPE Image (255): Unknown failure

Not sure what I did wrong or what to do next...

Any and all help is greatly appreciated, and able to provide any additional info/logs that may be missing upon request.

    Cheers,

You can maybe try moving the temp work dir, program files, drivers so that they are on a different drive. Since it looks like it failed when copying program files.

If that does not work, try using a different PC.

found my mistake. installed BIT to the flash drive directly rather than to a temp directory first, then letting WinPE do the install, thereby causing WinPE to source the install files from the same place it was trying to write them to. problem solved.
