  • BurnInTest/Linux test RAID?

How can I use BurnInTest (SLAX Linux) to test a RAID configuration of 4 SATA drives? I am not sure it is a software or hardware RAID setup (LSI). The System Setup report does not detect it/them and selecting Disk test does not perform any tests.

Do I need to somehow recable and test each disk separately?

If the RAID has a valid file system and is mounted then BurnInTest should be able to see and test it the same as any other mount point. If the drives are un-partitioned then BurnInTest might see it as a raw device but the drives might be hidden behind and the RAID controller and not using the device names BurnInTest expects.

Could you please try running BurnInTest in debug mode, using the command line parameter -d, and send us a copy of the debug.log file as well as the output form running the command "fdisk -l" so we can check if BurnInTest can see the same devices.
