  • Is BIT totally support Windows Server without Desktop Experience ?

    Hi Team,
We are going to run BIT v9.1/9.2 on Windows Server 2019/2022 without Desktop Experience
but it's show some message that system not found .dll file (e.g.: msvfw32.dll)
I copy these file from OS installed with Desktop Experience, and can eye view the BIT window and input the license.
But it run slow like hang at beginning run and no response when click something on UI.
Then must wait few second or minutes for it become normal.
After waiting, we can click the UI or change setting, but it's found some "Correctable Error" in BMC SEL.
The "Correctable Error" events always logged after open BIT everytime.

Q1: Could you please provide the BIT needed filelist about ".dll file" ?
Q2: Is the BIT trigger something to cause "Correctable Error" ?

    Regards,
    JiRui.

Server Core (without the Desktop Experience) is a cut down version of Windows, that supports the command line only.

BurnInTest for Windows is a GUI app, with a Windows based desktop interface. So it can not be expected to work without the desktop being available.

We do have a command line only Linux version of BurnInTest however.

Any modern Windows app will have a very large list of DLL dependencies and sub-dependencies. If you need a list then I would suggest looking at the Open Source 'Dependencies' tool.

Correctable Error's normally refer to ECC RAM single bit corrected errors. If the hardware is functioning correctly, then BurnInTest should not provoke these errors. But on the other hand, this is exactly the job of BurnIntest, to test the hardware for errors.

      David,

Infact, Server Core (without the Desktop Experience) has simple GUI window. So could run something like notepad.exe or some setup(e.g.: Intel chipset driver setup.exe).

Correctable Error is not only ECC function to RAM. PCIe Card or device is also support this function.

It's very appreciate to have your response.
