Avast detects Win32:Vitro when downloading bitpro.exe

    Hi,

I was trying to download BurnInTest Professional for Windows for my PC hardware repair class and when the download was complete, I received a notification from Avast telling me that the application had been quarantined because of Win32:Vitro.

I did a scan with both Avast and Malwarebytes, as well as a boot scan - only bitpro.exe was flagged as being infected with Vitro.

I use Adblock Plus and McAfee site adviser and have never run into a problem with malware while using the internet, and have never been infected with a virus to my knowledge.

Could it just be a false positive?

I think it must be a false positive.

There is a VirusTotal scan here,
    https://www.virustotal.com/en/url/8d...is/1461446712/

67 Antivirus products think the download is clean.

    I'll try and contact Avast.

We contacted Avast and it look like Avast have corrected the issue in their latest signature update.
