SD card is read-only in WinPE.

I am trying to run BIT/WinPE from an SD card. I have gotten it to boot and run BIT, but the "Disk" test gives the following error message "Test file could not be created. Check access privileges." Using diskpart I can see that the SD card is read-only and nothing I have tried has been able to change that.

Has anyone come across this before? Any suggestions on how to clear the read-only on a SD card in WinPE?

Does it really make sense to test the card you booted from?
Does the machine have another hard drive in it?
