  • Slow Sony Vaio!

    Hi,

    I did a performance test on a Sony Vaio vgn-ns21z laptop(BL29395), intel core 2 duo P8600 2.4gh, ATI Mobility Radeon HD3430, a Hitachi disk 280gb.
The OS is Windows Vista (32-bit).

    The result is dissapointing...

    pass mark : 261
    cpu mark : 423
    ...

I did the test because it takes too long to load Windows Vista, and it generally runs slow. i turned off some operations that were starting with the start up of Windows through the "Msconfig" but saw no difference.

The computer has a usb device connected for wireless internet, but i turned it off, and nothing changed.

I also checked for viruses and still nothing.

Too long to load windows and too slow with applications. I don't know what's happening. Any ideas? Can i solve this and how? Could this be a Vista problem?

    thanks

oh, i forgot. It has got a 4GB of RAM. Could this be a problem, because it is a 32-bit os? Can it handle the 4gb of ram?

Assuming you are using V7 of PerformanceTest, the CPU mark is low.

It might run quicker on mains power than battery power.

Many 32bit systems can only use 3GB or 3.5 GB of RAM. But this isn't going to effect boot times.
