  • testing usb drives independent from drive letters

    Hi

My problem is the following: when i wanna test laptop usb ports, and plug in usb drives the OS (usually vista or xp) randomly give drive letters to the usb drives.

And when i make a cfg file to cover all usb ports i need to give passmark the drive letters. but when i want to test another laptop im not sure i can use the same cfg since the evil OS possibly gives another letters to usb drives...

Is it any possible way to say to passmark to test USB ports/drives independent from drive letters?

    thanks
    Jon

You can test all USB ports independent of the drive letters using our USB 2.0 Loopback plugs (http://passmark.com/products/usb2loopback.htm).

If you are testing with USB Flash drives, you can use the disk test to scan all removable disks (like USB drives), Quick Tests -> Removable Disk scan.

    Regards,
    Ian
