  • Can't sleep or hibernate error code 50

I have been trying to get my Win7 64 system to sleep for days. I just can't get it to happen. I saw a post about trying your sleeper program. It failed to sleep with the following log entries. I am trying to get it to go to the combined S3/hibernate mode. Hibernate does not work either. Any attempt turns the monitor off, and a few seconds later the screen is on again and everything is running.

I have checked all the power settings. I ran a command line query I found and it showed the OS only believes a mouse can wake the system. I have a usb mouse so I am not sure how that would actually work.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    From the Microsoft documentation.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...(v=VS.85).aspx

Error 50 = The request is not supported.

From device manager you can allow or disallow devices to wake the system. Some USB mice do have a problem like this (they always wake up the system), and need to be disabled.
