I really like the new changes. It would also be great to have a performance/price ratio for video cards...
Thanks and great work!

CPU pricing is now available on the CPU benchmark pages.
At the moment (July 2010), 9 of the top 10 CPUs ranked by value are AMD Chips.
AMD Athlon II X3 435 $66.99
AMD Sempron Dual Core 2300 $35.99
AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core $80.99
AMD Athlon II X3 445 $84.99
AMD Phenom 9950 Quad-Core $85.99
AMD Athlon 7850 Dual-Core $45.99
AMD Athlon II X3 440 $74.99
AMD Athlon II X4 635 $99.99
AMD Athlon II X4 630 $99.00
Intel Celeron E3300 @ 2.50GHz $51.99
But in terms of absolute performance Intel holds all ten of the top 10 positions (in single CPU systems).
Intel Core i7 X 980 @ 3.33GHz $964.99
Intel Xeon X5670 @ 2.93GHz $1,459.99
Intel Xeon X5680 @ 3.33GHz $1,723.15
Intel Xeon W3680 @ 3.33GHz $1,069.99
Intel Xeon X5660 @ 2.80GHz $1,225.74
Intel Xeon X5650 @ 2.67GHz $1,024.71
Intel Core i7 975 @ 3.33GHz $979.99
Intel Xeon W5590 @ 3.33GHz $1,692.47
Intel Xeon W3570 @ 3.20GHz $1,069.99
Intel Core i7 965 @ 3.20GHz $999.00
The difference in pricing between the best value and best performance is staggering.

The hard disk and video charts have now also been mostly converted to HTML charts. We are looking to see if we can get rid of the final pie chart & line chart which is still in Flash. But Flash is 90% gone now.

Using HTML has a few advantages over the Flash charting package we were using,
- You can do a search within the charts from the browser (CTRL-F) for a CPU name
- The benchmark charts are iPad compatible
- The pages load slightly quicker
- The graphs are no longer height limited. (there was a limit in Flash that caused the rows to bunch up)
- It doesn't need Flash (which has been experiencing a surge in unpopularity & exploits) and so more people can see the charts.
- Flash has never been available for 64bit browsers.

Flash or no flash it does not matter to me. I must say I love the new look, its much more professional.

Yes, we have been working on the CPU benchmark charts for the last week or so.
We will convert the rest of the bar charts to HTML this coming week, and the week after hopefully start pulling in some live pricing information.

CPU Benchmark Site Changes
I noticed that the cpu performance index listings are no longer FLASH. Whoever was responsible for making the changes and stopped the use of flash, I love you.Tags: None
