Which laptop would perform better?
Like which one will be future proof, last longer before needing to upgrade?

For performance you need to look into what models of SSD are used.
For how long they last before they break down, it is impossible to say.
Screen sizes & GPU are also different. Weight and battery life probably are as well. -
Overall which one would be better for right now, if you had to chose.?

Impossible to say, as my needs won't be the same as yours.
I wouldn't but either of these machines, as if you want to do gaming, then a desktop machine is better.
Laptops (for me) are for when you need portability. So I would pick the HP unit if I was really forced to pick between these two machines, as it weights a lot less.Comment
