Trojan in PeformanceTest - Bitdefender False positve

I downloaded the trial of PerformanceTest and BitDefender prompted me with this message after install. The file C:\Program Files\PerformanceTest\Mandel.exe is infected with Gen:Trojan.Heur.RP.jqX@auFkFobi and was moved to quarantine.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. It is a false positive, we'll submit a report to BitDefender.

If you are concerned you can view the results from other Anti-Virus programs for the file here,

Similar experience, slightly different error message. Also using BitDefender. "Item was blocked. Threat name: Trojan.GenericKD.34104838. Path: C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Temp\is-EUC77.tmp\petst.tmp."

        mll247,

petst.tmp isn't a file we directly create. It is likely a temp file created by the installer. Did this happen on the download, or during the install, or when trying to run the software?

Are the virus definitions up to date in BitDefender?

We tested Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition version 1.0.17.178 (engine version 7.84557) and didn't see any issues when downloading, install or running PerformanceTest (V10 build 1007).

After updating to engine version 7.85038 one of the install files is blocked from being created (the initial scan of the installer is OK however). So it looks like a false positive with the latest definitions.

We've submitted the details to BitDefender to fix.
