  • USB 3.0 LoopBack Plug Shows Wrong Firmware

I have one of the USB 3.0 LoopBack Plug Tester Model: PMUSB03 (rev 1). It had Firmware 2.5. I downloaded the Firmware 2.6 update and ran the program to update it to 2.6. The program ran fine and the tester works fine. However, on the LCD display on the tester it still shows FirmWareV2.5. When I run the Firmware update program again, it shows the current Fiirmware of the Tester to be 2.6 and when I run the USB 3.0 Stand alone test application it shows Plug Info: HW Version 1.0, FW Version 2.6. It does seem to have updated the Firmware but showing the wrong version on the LCD display of the tester? I have the latest driver for it install (Win 10 Pro 64bit).

    Thanks for any info....

We were not able to reproduce this on a rev 2 plug.

Will test this on a rev 1 plug on Monday as we currently do not have one on hand.

Wrong fireware version displaying issue has been fixed, you can download the updated firmware updater tool here: https://www.passmark.com/products/us...k/download.php

File name has not changed, so you may need to clear your browser cache to get the updated file.

Thanks, that fixed the problem. Far as I could tell was working OK, just showed wrong firmware.

One more quick question, what is the difference between Rev 1 and Rev 2 of the USB 3.0 Tester?

        Thanks

The differences between a Rev 1 and Rev 2 can be found here:
          https://www.passmark.com/support/usb3loopback_faq.php
Under the question "How do I find the device Hardware Revision and what are the differences between hardware revision 1 and revision 2?"
