  • Problems with windows xp audio drivers

Hey everyone, I have an old laptop Lenovo R60, and it's quite old, but still kickin'. Problem is that in windows 7 it runs out of RAM preety easly, but on windows xp there is some sort of audio issue where the OS doesn't seem to recognize the speakers. I've tried installing drivers manually but it said that they are not compatible. But I know thats a software issue because in windows 7 they work perfectly, so I'm asking for your help

I assume you are implying that there is a device driver bug in Win7 causing a memory leak which eventually causes the machine to run out of RAM?

Based on our experience Lenovo aren't going to care.

Are you already running 64bit Win7?
Can you upgrade the RAM to mitigate the problem?
Can you disable the inbuild sound card and use a USB connected sound card?

I think this will be the year that software developers start dropping support for 32bit and XP. So you don't really want to be on XP anymore.

      Fixed it!

With some help I was able to fix it with certain drivers, I'll upload it as soon as I can. And I'm running xp because my laptop simply runs out of RAM. Also I can't run 64bit system because the CPU doesn't support it
