  • USB 3.0 Loopback Plug Firmware inquiries

    Hi All.

I have some questions about USB 3.0 Loopback Plug firmware and software. I bought PM065 at 15/12/2021.
I used this device to test our customed cable's performance.
But the test result value varies before and after firmware update.
I wonder why the result value varies depending on the firmware version.

And even after being tested normally, the device does not power up the next day.
If the power is not turned on, it will be turned on again by trying to update the firmware, but I would like to ask why this process is necessary.

Can I get solutions to solve this issue?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    > I wonder why the result value varies depending on the firmware version.
What firmware version did you have on the plug before updating its firmware?

    > result value varies depending on the firmware version
Which result values? And what was the variation?

    > And even after being tested normally, the device does not power up the next day.
Do you mean this happens every time you power cycle the plug?
Can you please try on a different machine and use the original cable that comes with the tester?

      Hi
      Thank you for your reply.

      > FW Updater Version is 2.6 and Test Version is 2.0.

      > And even after being tested normally, the device does not power up the next day.

      > No, it didn't happen every time but it happened quite frequently.
      > There is no problem with the original cable that provided.
But our cable makes other results depended by PC.

If the original cable doesn't have a problem, but your own cable does have a problem, then the obvious initial conclusion is that there is a problem with your cable.
