Yes! You are seeing this correctly! The 4th gen system has better overall performance specs then the 6th or 7th gen system! The biggest limitations to these systems are their cases, power supplies and mainboards. These components are all proprietary and are grossly underpowered. There is no cables on either power supply to power any add on components. The fact that the 6th/7th gen system is very under-performing was very surprising to me.
So, as you can see - Don't waste your time and money on these systems because they will not give you the performance you are looking for. Save your money and build a system from scratch.
The components in the ProDesk were transferred to a custom case, a used 650 watt power supply and a used Asrok Z170 Extreme 4 MATX motherboard. The new Passmark specs after the rebuild were almost 5000! Just changing those three components made a huge difference in performance! Don't assume just because a system is newer it will be faster! This test proves otherwise. Don't waste your time.
