  • Crazy Question: Drive Temperature

DiskCheck is reporting that my Drive Temperature is 6992 degrees(F), which of course is wrong because it is working just fine and the laptop hasn't set my house of fire yet. Any ideas why? I mean, I know something is broke; maybe the drive is not temp reporting capable?

The SMART data standard isn't a great standard.

Different vendors (and different models of drives from the same vendor) support different values and different encoding. So it is probably a non standard drive and probably not a hardware failure.
