Android Phones and evidence extraction possibilities

Hello Everyone,
New to the forums. I have a question. I have just an OS Forensics Triage certification. Is it feasible, because of the make up of the android or other computer based phone phone system as more of a computer than the “iPhone” system, that I might be able to use the OS Forensic software to extract evidence from those types of phones? Provided, I’m sure, that I have some type of USB on one end and android type plug on the other end device to extract the info?

There are some details here about using OSForensics to collect data from a Android phone.

Phones (especially modern ones) are generally harder to investigate than PC style computers because of their more wide spread use of encryption and lack of Admin rights on the phone.
