Can I use Memtest86 to benchmark CXL Type 3 memory? Specifically I am interested in measuring memory latency. Is Passmark considering a product for benchmarking CXL?

We haven't done any testing with any CXL Type 3 devices.
Our understanding is that the additional CXL RAM should appear to applications as normal RAM, but slower and appear to be connected via different socket (which sounds like the NUMA situation from a programming point of view)
However it isn't clear if BIOS also supports this, or if the additional RAM only appears after the operating system has booted and device drivers loaded.
So there is some chance MemTest86 will just work with the additional RAM, but MemTest86 probably isn't the best tool for latency measurements anyway.
You would probably be better off using PerformanceTest's Advance memory test.
If you get a chance to test all this we would be interested in knowing the result.
