  • SMART write error rate

I have an older hard drive (4-5 years) that's been running perfectly, but just recently started giving the write error code. It's a WD 80GB ATA, just used for music & movie storage. I've backed up everything onto a larger external drive.
Is this thing on its last leg? It's out of warranty, and not really worth spending cash to get fixed.

Yes it is probably failing. And no it is not worth fixing hard drives.
