  • MemTest v4.3.7 fails at Test #3 (with video)

    Hello,
This is a notebook with I am testing Compal PBL10. From Login Informatica, Assembler and Retailer company.
    The memory is 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz which I tried to run on a build-in MemTest86 v4.3.7 of a usb multiboot tool "Easy2Boot".
As you can see in the video youtu.be/ p7BPe_KdtJ0 <- link
The test stoped at #3. Actually it reboots ? the machine, which ends before the completion of the procedure.
I downloaded the new release from passmark, to get a second attempt. I could not even boot the usb with it (v7.1). It hangs in a black screen with console cursor blinking.
    Have a great time.

Link to video isn't correct, so we can't see that.

We don't know anything about Easy2Boot, so can't comment on that.

V7 of MemTest86 requires a UEFI BIOS. This machine might not have UEFI?

If the machine reboots mid-test then my first guess would be that it has a hardware fault of some type. Can you try changing the RAM?

Yeah, you should remove the space after the slash and before the 'p'.
That's the deal, it's a BIOS notebook. not UEFI. How should I proceed?
You said hardware fault, which one, the motherboard or the RAM ? I will do further testing tomorrow!
      Thanks for the heads up!
why the forum's image so small?
      Have a great time

There is a small chance it might be a BIOS bug. So I would start by updating the BIOS.
        Then try new RAM.
(Could also be MB or power supply. There is no magic solution other than trial and error).
