Memtest 7.3 USB stick black screens, doesn't boot

Asus Maximus IX Hero, BIOS version 0906, Memtest v7.3, booting off a USB stick, the USB stick boots fine in both UEFI and non-UEFI mode on another system, but black screens and hangs every time on this system. Tried disabling secure boot, no change, it still black screens, and when trying to boot non-UEFI, it just returns to the BIOS. I've run other stress tests in Windows and they pass. I've also tried 3 different GPU's and the onboard video, just for the hell of it, no difference. Any ideas??

Check to see if there is a MemTest86.log created under EFI\BOOT\ of the USB drive. If there was at least an attempt at booting, the file should exist and have been written to.
