MemTest86 v7.4 always detected the XMP 3000MHz speed when I disabled XMP from BIOS.

I had two XMP 3000MHz RAM modules and installed on my laptop which supports XMP(Intel® Extreme Memory Profile)
I can find the following items with different timings.

    extreme memory profile(X.M.P) 1 for default 2400MHz
    extreme memory profile(X.M.P) 2 for 3000 MHz

My question is when I selected profile 1 with 2400MHz, MemTest86 v7.4 still showed my memory speed is 3000MHz.
But when I enter windows 10 environment, my laptop showed right speed with 2400MHz.
Why did the MemTest86 v7.4 always show xmp speed 3000Mhz instead of 2400MHz when XMP was not enabled.

    Thanks

    Jesse

MemTest86 reports on the capabilities of the RAM. Not on the clock speed you selected in BIOS.
