  • Memory Test with memory scrambling feature

My platform is with Intel CPU and with memory data scrambling enabling feature. Do I need to disable memory scrambling feature when I do MEMTEST86 test? As I know, Intel's memory data scrambling feature will change original data pattern to DRAM to minimize the impact of excessive di/dt on the platform.

No you don't need to change it. Best you test the RAM in the same configuration as your plan to use it.

The scrambling feature makes it hard to match memory addresses to particular RAM stick, but that is already so hard as to be impossible.

If so, memory test pattern of MEMTEST86 when writing to DRAM is not exactly the same as the test tool expects, right?

I don't know what test tools you are referring to, nor what they might expect.

The Test tool what I mean is just MEMTEST86.

So your question is, "..memory test pattern of MEMTEST86 when writing to DRAM is not exactly the same as the test tool [MemTest86] expects?"

And the question makes no sense to me. Sorry.
