  • CPU at fault?

    Hello - I've been having multiple issues with a Biostart TB250 motherboard, fitted with i5 7400 and an 8Gb stick of DDR4 2400 ram.

    I've had multiple seemingly random stopcodes on Windows 10 install so decided to try MemTest thinking my memory at fault. However with Memtest on auto run I see hundreds of thousands of errors on Test 1, which would appear to point the finger at my cpu;

    Test 1 [Address test, own address, 1 CPU]

    Is it likely my CPU rather than my ram?

    I would try,
    1) Seeing if there was new firmware available for the motherboard
    2) Retest 1 CPU core at a time
    3) Swapping the RAM if your have spare stick.

      Many thanks. Half dead ram stick. Swapped for like and bingo, all is good again.
