  • macbookpro18,1 failure

I have a 2018 macbook pro retina 2.4Ghz with 32Gb. I haven't had any trouble with it. My SO bought a imac 27" which I'm going to upgrade the ram in, so I thought I'd figure out how to run memtest86. When I run it on my macbookpro, I get the attached log, showing a number of failures on test 10 (bit fade test). The failures are all in low memory. I also had to blacklist MP or it would freeze after 14 seconds in test 0. I attached the log of the failure, not the freeze.

Should I worry about this? It only seems to affect the first 4k.

BTW, to get it to boot, 2 settings need to be changed in the Startup Options accessible from Cmd-C during boot, allow external device and allow unsigned module. I can provide more detail on that if desired.

it looks to be the same issues as these posts

Particular Mac UEFI boot ROMS have bugs in them. See above.posts.
We reported the issue to Apple, but they never replied. Seems they don't care.
