  • Supermicro X10SRW-F reboots upon starting 1st test

Hi, I have a Supermicro X10SRW-F with an E5-1650 v3 running fedora29 that has been having some problem lately, so I thought I would run it through memtest86 to check for potential bad memory.

I installed the grub2 option for memtest86-5.01 on boot. I'm able to access and monitor it remotely via IPMI. Moments after starting it, it spontaneously reboots. It appears to reboot immediately after starting test 2.

I've tried pressing F1 for safe mode and it reboots at very nearly the same 6 or 8 seconds after starting. I've also tried pressing F2, and it lasts a bit longer, but then also reboots. It appears to make it to test 2 before rebooting. I've attached a screenshot that I managed to get just before it reboots.

That is the old fork of MemTest86+ V5. This isn't our software & we don't support it. It hasn't been updated in years and is known to be buggy,

    Try the original at https://www.memtest86.com/

Ah, thank you. I recalled there being two different versions, and even remember one was much older and not supported, but thought I had the right one, particularly after reading the wikipedia entry. It's also the one available from current fedora.

Do you know if there is a current version that can be used with grub, so I can try it remotely?
